Duties

• Advise clients on legal rights, prepare case-related documents, and strategize legal defenses.
• Attend pretrial hearings, provide client counsel, and develop post-hearing strategies.
• Manage court appearances, draft motions, conduct witness interviews, and perform legal research.
• Assess case outcomes by applying knowledge of legal precedents.
• Handle a caseload independently, delivering detailed legal analysis to evaluate case benefits.
• Collect and evaluate evidence to support defense strategies or counter-prosecution charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions, outline case goals, and gather essential insights from witnesses and experts.
• Review discovery, draft motions, and negotiate with the District Attorney remotely.
• Appear remotely in court when necessary for San Jose cases.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal defense law.
• Proven experience in handling criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative approach to working with fellow attorneys.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Commitment to exceptional client service and robust interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and strategize cases effectively in a remote work environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be an admitted and licensed attorney in the state of California.
