A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of academic achievement and extensive experience in real estate finance law from a large law firm. This role requires exceptional writing and communication skills, as well as experience in handling large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity. The successful candidate will be adept at managing transactions from inception through closing and post-closing, including secondary market repurchase facilities and exit strategies.

Duties:

  • Represent lenders in large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
  • Manage all phases of transactions from inception through closing and post-closing.
  • Handle secondary market repurchase facilities and develop effective exit strategies.
  • Oversee asset management and workout scenarios as needed.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review transaction documents and related agreements.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide strategic advice on real estate finance matters.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transaction processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and presentations for both internal and external use.
  • Stay abreast of legal developments and market trends impacting real estate finance.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of broad experience in real estate finance law, preferably from a large law firm environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in loan origination work and handling large structured commercial real estate finance transactions.
  • Proven ability to manage transactions from inception to closing, including post-closing activities.
  • Experience with secondary market repurchase facilities and various exit strategies.
  • Asset management and workout experience is preferred.
  • High level of academic achievement and substantial large law firm experience.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Georgia or willingness to obtain.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
