Duties

• Advise clients on complex immigration issues, offering strategic legal solutions tailored to their specific needs.
• Represent clients in both detained and non-detained removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely progress and attention to detail.
• Conduct client intake and provide on-site visits to detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and file various immigration applications, including those related to removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
• Review and revise immigration application packets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law updates and advocacy.
• Lead consultations with potential clients, developing strategic plans for their immigration cases.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for immigration hearings and USCIS interviews.
• Conduct legal analysis to identify potential benefits for clients' cases.
• Draft and submit legal briefs and memorandums in support of immigration cases.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience practicing Immigration Law.
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload with a focus on efficiency and results.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team of legal professionals.
• Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, detained cases, and other USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with immigration case management software is preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, though not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
