Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Rochester, NY, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse set of clients, particularly in the area of creditors’ rights, including residential foreclosure, bankruptcy, and replevin. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, results-oriented, and adept at navigating complex legal issues within a fast-paced environment. As part of a collaborative team, you will provide high-quality legal counsel and develop creative solutions to emerging challenges.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal representation to financial institutions in matters related to default servicing and mortgage banking.
  • Review and analyze loan documents, financial records, and correspondence.
  • Draft and file pleadings, notices, motions, and correspondence.
  • Respond to motions and affirmative defenses filed by defendants.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, both in person and via video.
  • Identify legal issues, develop strategies, and advocate effectively for clients in court.
  • Work closely with non-attorney staff, offering guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and court rules.
  • Lead by example, adhering to firm compliance and ethics programs.
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

  • Active attorney license in New York.
  • 1-2 years of experience in legal practice, particularly in bankruptcy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing excellent client service.
  • Commitment to maintaining compliance and high ethical standards.
  • Ability to travel domestically if necessary.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
