Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Attorney to join its Construction and Infrastructure group in the Nashville office. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in litigating complex commercial disputes related to design and construction, with a degree or background experience in the design/construction industry being a plus. This role offers the opportunity to work with seasoned lawyers who will provide mentorship and client interaction, while also offering career growth and development within the firm.

Location:

  • Nashville, TN

Duties:

  • Handle litigation related to complex commercial disputes in design and construction.
  • Provide active mentorship and assume increasing responsibilities in managing cases.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on client contact and business development.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on construction and infrastructure matters.
  • Participate in internal and external marketing and business development activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of four years of experience in litigating construction and design-related commercial disputes.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted and in good standing with the relevant state bar.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines efficiently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active state bar membership (required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in commercial litigation, with a focus on design and construction.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Exceptional client relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Background in design/construction industry is beneficial, but not required.
