Family Law Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Family Law Practice Group in downtown San Diego. This role offers the opportunity to grow in a collaborative and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will handle family law matters, including drafting legal motions, conducting research, and representing clients in courtroom proceedings. Duties:

• Draft and respond to RFO (Request for Order) motions.
• Prepare DODs (Declarations of Disclosure) and Income and Expense Declarations.
• Propound and respond to discovery and manage motions to compel.
• Conduct legal research, analyze case documents, and assist in courtroom appearances.
• Represent clients in RFO hearings, and evidentiary hearings, and serve as second chair in family law trials.
• Draft mediation and trial briefs and attend mediations with senior attorneys.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in Family Law, including RFO motions, discovery, and declarations.
• Some courtroom experience, particularly in RFO hearings, is preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, particularly in declarations and pleadings.
• Excellent client interaction and interview skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California Bar License required.

Skills:

• Strong legal drafting and research skills.
• Experience with discovery, RFO motions, and court pleadings.
• Strong work ethic and time management abilities.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and courtroom appearances.
