Job Title: Institutional Response Group Attorney

Job Overview

A prominent law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking a highly skilled attorney to join its Institutional Response Group. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with institutions in creating equitable and compliant systems for addressing civil rights issues, harassment, discrimination, and other sensitive matters. The role involves working closely with educational institutions, corporations, and organizations to provide strategic guidance, conduct investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Duties

  • Conduct investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or relevant civil rights and criminal laws addressing sexual and gender-based harassment and violence, discrimination, and abuse.
  • Assist institutions in implementing trauma-informed, fair, and impartial prevention and resolution processes.
  • Develop written policies, procedures, and educational materials related to compliance and response frameworks.
  • Provide regulatory guidance on Title IX, the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and related compliance issues.
  • Deliver oral and written guidance with exceptional clarity and professionalism.
  • Offer strategic consulting for policy and governance structures for organizations, including colleges, universities, hospitals, and nonprofits.
  • Collaborate with institutions to design and evaluate systems addressing safety, security, and misconduct.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington State (WA).
  • Demonstrated expertise in investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or related laws.
  • Extensive experience with the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and other compliance regulations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for client engagements as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Washington State.
