Job Title: Intellectual Property Associate Attorney - Technical/ Engineering Focus

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Seattle, WA is partnering with our legal recruiting agency to find a highly capable Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney with 2-4 years of focused experience. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in patent and/or trade secret litigation, backed by a technical or engineering-related academic background. This role provides the chance to engage in complex IP disputes with top-tier professionals, in an environment that fosters initiative, creativity, and collaboration.

Duties:

  • Represent technology-driven clients in patent and trade secret litigation matters

  • Draft legal arguments, motions, pleadings, and discovery documents

  • Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies in coordination with team members

  • Engage with clients and experts to understand the technical aspects of cases

  • Advocate in hearings, trials, and proceedings before federal courts or the ITC

  • Assist in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the USPTO

  • Collaborate across offices with a distributed IP litigation team

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience handling intellectual property disputes

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation assignments independently

  • Superior written and oral advocacy capabilities

  • Strong organizational skills and professional initiative

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred in one of the following:

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Computer Science

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Physics, Chemistry, or Biochemistry

    • Chemical Engineering

    • Other related technical fields

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in Washington State

  • Additional USPTO admission or experience with IPRs is beneficial
