A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its Lubbock, TX office. This role involves representing clients in both state and federal court proceedings across diverse areas, including construction litigation, contract disputes, intellectual property, and general commercial litigation. This is an in-office position requiring courtroom and trial experience, as well as a commitment to occasional travel as needed.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, covering a range of cases, such as construction litigation, contract disputes, intellectual property, and commercial litigation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies, providing clients with well-informed guidance.
  • Cover hearings, mediations, and trial appearances with a high level of advocacy.
  • Engage in alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and, preferably, arbitration proceedings.
  • Collaborate with clients and legal staff to prepare cases and manage case timelines.
  • Ensure thorough preparation and representation in all trial-related activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven litigation experience with courtroom and trial capabilities.
  • Strong writing and research skills to support effective case strategies and advocacy.
  • Ability to handle hearings, draft legal documents, and respond rapidly to court requirements.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for case-related obligations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Texas.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research, including experience with Westlaw or similar platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective courtroom advocacy.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines.
