Job Overview

A law firm specializing in workers' compensation cases is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate Attorney. This role involves direct collaboration with the Managing Partner, guiding junior attorneys, overseeing case evaluations, and actively participating in litigation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in workers' compensation law, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Duties

  • Assist the Managing Partner with key responsibilities, including:

    • Conducting client educational webinars.

    • Preparing for bulk settlement conferences.

    • Evaluating case value and providing guidance on complex cases.

    • Ensuring compliance with department metrics.

    • Holding regular meetings with associates.

  • Handle depositions, including:

    • Preparing clients for depositions.

    • Attending depositions and invoicing accordingly.

  • Provide mentorship and training to attorneys within the firm.

  • Conduct case re-evaluations and settlement authorizations.

  • Respond to client inquiries requiring attorney negotiations.

  • Offer direction and guidance to non-attorney staff.

  • Participate in trials and hearings as needed.

  • Assist associates in managing difficult client interactions.

  • Lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

  • Engage in firm events and provide feedback for operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of workers' compensation experience.

  • Experience conducting depositions, particularly with medical professionals.

  • Strong ability to handle fast-paced work environments.

  • Proven track record in case evaluations and settlements.

  • Ability to manage and mentor attorneys within the firm.

  • Active and good standing membership with the California State Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
