Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct comprehensive client interviews to gather case details and relevant information.
  • Draft and prepare legal briefs, motions, and other necessary court documents.
  • Perform legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and relevant legal precedents.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice to clients regarding their immigration cases and potential outcomes.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to formulate and implement case strategies.
  • Stay informed about changes in immigration law and regulations, particularly concerning removal proceedings.
  • Participate in client meetings and consultations.
  • Manage multiple cases concurrently while adhering to tight deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Maryland Bar or willingness to obtain admission in one of the firm’s operating states (Maryland, Florida, California).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law, specifically handling removal proceedings.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to represent clients effectively.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to immigrant rights and legal advocacy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Maryland State Bar (required), or willingness to obtain admission in other relevant states.

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is beneficial.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
