A law firm in New York City is seeking a Foreclosure Associate Attorney with 2+ years of contested foreclosure experience. The ideal candidate will be admitted to the New York Bar and have a strong background in handling foreclosure litigation matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of contested foreclosure matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials related to foreclosure actions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client communication.
  • Review and analyze loan documents, mortgage agreements, and foreclosure proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements and modifications with opposing counsel and clients.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding foreclosure laws and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience specifically in contested foreclosure litigation.
  • Strong understanding of New York foreclosure laws, procedures, and court rules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
