Job Overview

A well-established law firm in Prairie Village, KS, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its respected team. Location

Duties

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for state and federal court cases.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Provide timely reporting to clients on case progress.
  • Participate in all phases of discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and assist in managing the caseload.
  • Attend court hearings and trials as necessary.
  • Research and interpret facts and law in complex litigation, including the defense of medical malpractice actions.
  • Review and analyze medical records related to cases.
  • Develop litigation defense strategies.
  • Prepare daily time entries.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Kansas and Missouri Bar preferred.
  • 1-3 years of civil litigation and/or trial experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and legal writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Kansas Bar required.
  • Admission to the Missouri Bar preferred.
