Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury defense matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Work closely with clients, providing legal advice and updates on case progress.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on case strategy and preparation.
  • Negotiate settlements and effectively manage client expectations.
  • Review and analyze medical records, accident reports, and other documents relevant to each case.
  • Prepare and present legal arguments in court and draft post-trial motions as necessary.
  • Stay current with developments in personal injury law, court rules, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 1-6 years of experience in personal injury defense or civil litigation.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present arguments in court.
  • Capable of working independently while also being a team player.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with legal software and document management systems is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas, in good standing.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.
  • Knowledge of Texas personal injury law and civil procedure.
  • Strong negotiation skills for settlement discussions.
  • Experience managing depositions, trials, and other legal proceedings.
