Job Overview: A law firm in Cleveland, OH, seeks a skilled Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to represent corporate clients before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and various courts. The role involves conducting medical reviews, analyzing records, and handling legal proceedings related to workers' compensation claims.

Duties:

  • Represent corporate clients before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and various Courts.
  • Conduct medical reviews and analyze records as needed.
  • Conduct depositions of medical providers and other involved parties.
  • Attend court hearings across all districts of Ohio.
  • Draft motions, discovery responses/demands, and responses to Court Orders.
  • Negotiate and draft settlement agreements.
  • Prepare for and conduct trials, including trial preparation and trial work.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to clients through effective communication.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of general workers' compensation experience.
  • Trial experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to deal courteously and effectively with others.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and shifting responsibilities.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership and good standing with the Ohio Bar.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.

Education and Certifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
