Duties

  • Handle all phases of workers’ compensation litigation from inception through resolution

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda

  • Conduct and defend depositions, including expert witnesses

  • Prepare for and participate in hearings and trials

  • Analyze medical records and other evidence for case development

  • Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, and medical professionals

  • Maintain organized case files and meet litigation deadlines

  • Assist with related civil litigation matters as needed

Requirements

  • Experience in workers’ compensation litigation preferred

  • Some experience in civil litigation is a plus

  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar (required)

  • Proficiency in litigation procedures and workers’ compensation law

  • Effective communication with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel
