Senior Immigration Attorney for Vienna Office

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Immigration Attorney to join its fast-paced legal team in Vienna, VA. Duties:

• Prepare and file family-based and employment-based immigration petitions and applications.
• Handle cases involving immigrant and non-immigrant visas, adjustment of status, naturalization, NACARA, TPS, and deportation defense.
• Represent clients before Immigration Courts, USCIS, ICE, and CBP.
• Draft and submit motions, including BIA appeals, motions to reopen or reconsider, waivers, and asylum applications.
• Advise clients on complex immigration matters and guide them through legal processes.
• Manage a high-volume caseload and ensure that deadlines are consistently met.
• Appear in court for hearings and immigration interviews as required.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure the efficient and effective representation of clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum of three years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to proofread and edit legal documents.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in legal technology and immigration law platforms.
• Experience in court appearances and client representation before various government agencies.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar license in good standing in either Maryland or Virginia.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in immigration case management software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
