Job Overview: A dynamic and growing creditors’ rights law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its Florida office. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of litigation or collections experience, with a proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload. The role offers an opportunity to take on significant responsibilities in handling cases, mentoring junior attorneys, and contributing to the firm's ongoing success in a collegial work environment. Location:

  • Plantation, FL

Duties:

  • Assist in managing the Florida office's litigation and collections practice
  • Represent clients at hearings, trials, and contested matters in Florida
  • Mentor junior attorneys and provide guidance on case strategy
  • Monitor case progress and develop strategies for effective resolutions
  • Review documents, financials, notices, and demand letters to ensure compliance with conditions precedent before filing actions
  • Draft and review pleadings and correspondence to initiate actions
  • Maintain and update internal systems with findings, documentation, and recommendations
  • Safeguard compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections regulations
  • Handle contested matters, including discovery and trials
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and the court

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of litigation or collections experience
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and produce high-quality work
  • Bar membership in Florida (required)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Bar membership in Florida (required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of legal experience (preferred)
  • Legal collections experience (preferred)
  • Licensure in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and/or Pennsylvania (preferred)

  • Intermediate to advanced computer and office skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and present corrective action recommendations
