Job Overview:

A well-regarded law firm in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a full-time Labor Attorney to join its expanding Labor and Employment team. The successful candidate will work on various labor law matters, particularly focusing on first responder labor unions. This role offers the opportunity to negotiate collective bargaining agreements, represent union clients in disputes, and mentor junior attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

  • Milwaukee, WI

Duties:

  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements for first responder labor unions.
  • Advocate for and represent union clients in grievances, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Handle case assignments in collaboration with other team leads.
  • Provide mentorship to associate attorneys and junior staff.
  • Assist in client acquisition and development initiatives to grow the firm’s labor law practice.

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in labor law, preferably within the public sector.
  • Experience in collective bargaining is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin (Required).
