Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview

A well-established law firm in Saint Louis, MO, seeks an experienced and dedicated Immigration Attorney to provide legal assistance in various immigration-related matters. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse caseload, working closely with clients from diverse backgrounds, and will provide representation, counsel, and advocacy in a dynamic legal environment. Duties

  • Represent clients in immigration cases before Immigration Courts, USCIS, ICE, CBP, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and federal courts.
  • Prepare and submit applications and petitions for immigration benefits.
  • Counsel clients on potential legal options and pathways to relief.
  • Develop comprehensive factual backgrounds and construct legal arguments, especially in asylum claims.
  • Research case law, statutes, and regulations to support legal strategies.
  • Represent clients in family-based applications, consular processing, and other immigration matters.
  • Collaborate effectively with partners and other attorneys within the firm.
  • Perform legal research and writing in support of both affirmative and defensive applications, federal litigation, and advocacy before immigration agencies.

Requirements

  • Active Bar admission in any U.S. state (MO, DC, or CA Bar preferred).
  • 1 year of experience in immigration law.
  • Proficiency in handling various legal documents and an understanding of immigration and criminal law proceedings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong legal analysis abilities and a demonstrated passion for immigration law.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage a large caseload, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Valid active Bar license in any U.S. state.

Skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Advocacy and client counseling abilities.
  • Multilingual abilities are highly preferred.
