A law firm seeks to hire an Associate Attorney with 1 to 3 years of experience to join its expanding legal team in Lake Mary, FL. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for creditor's rights and litigation. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of legal proceedings, including court appearances, motions, and contested hearings while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic environment.

Duties:

  • Prepare for and attend court hearings and proceedings.
  • Handle motions, contested hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Draft, review, and approve legal pleadings such as complaints, motions, discovery, and post-judgment proceedings.
  • Assist with litigation processes and ensure timely filings and responses.
  • Contribute to case management and collaborate with senior attorneys on complex matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Florida law license.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in creditor’s rights or related litigation.
  • Additional licensure in Kentucky, Indiana, and/or Ohio is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes and courtroom procedures.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Florida.
  • Licensure in other states (Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio) is desirable but not mandatory.

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and drafting skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and courtroom presentation abilities.
  • Ability to handle high-volume litigation cases and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with motions, hearings, and arbitration proceedings.
  • Proficiency in legal research and using standard legal software tools.
