Job Overview:

Location:

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and prepare legal documents related to their cases.
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise them on the best strategies following each hearing.
  • Manage court appearances, trials, and the preparation of motions.
  • Interview witnesses, gather evidence, and perform legal research.
  • Analyze case outcomes and provide legal analysis to clients, determining potential case benefits.
  • Manage a caseload and ensure all aspects of cases are handled efficiently.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and coordinate with experts to support client positions.
  • Collaborate with the Criminal Defense team, strategizing and providing guidance to junior associates and assistants.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in California (active membership with the State Bar of California).

Certifications:

  • Active California Bar license (required).

Skills:

  • Strong courtroom and trial experience.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide strategic counsel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and case management.
