Job Overview

Duties

  • Advise clients on tax issues related to real estate, including REITs and other real estate investment structures.
  • Conduct legal research and provide tax analysis on a range of real estate transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as tax-related memoranda, contracts, and client communications.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex tax and real estate matters.
  • Assist in developing creative legal solutions to complex tax problems.
  • Manage client relationships and support business development efforts.
  • Stay informed on changes to tax laws, especially those affecting the real estate sector.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in tax law (for associates from law school class years 2019 to 2022).
  • Experience with real estate tax issues, including REITs, preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to solve complex and novel legal problems.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Strong academic credentials and a commitment to professional growth.

Education

  • J.D. (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar (District of Columbia) required.
