Duties

  • Handle a wide range of litigation matters from pre-suit through trial.
  • Engage in motion practice, depositions, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Represent clients in court, including during hearings and trials.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring compliance with deadlines and legal requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing strategic advice and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by building a personal book of business.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other legal professionals to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of litigation experience, with proven courtroom and drafting skills.
  • Prior experience in real estate litigation is a plus.
  • Strong expertise in motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build a book of business.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois (or ability to obtain licensure in the state).
