Job Duties:

  • Advise clients on estate planning, including wills, trusts, and other legal documents.
  • Develop and implement strategies for business succession planning.
  • Provide legal counsel to private trust companies and family offices.
  • Assist clients with charitable giving strategies and establishing and managing private foundations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents related to personal and succession planning.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on issues about estate planning, tax implications, and related matters.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Stay current with changes in laws and regulations affecting estate and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring high-quality and responsive legal services.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families, private trust companies and family offices, business succession planning, charitable giving strategies, and private foundations.
  • Outstanding academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Proven work experience in a similar role within a law firm or legal setting.
  • Strong work ethic and professional integrity.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • LL.M. in Taxation is a plus.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio.
  • Additional certifications in estate planning or related fields are advantageous.
