A law firm seeks an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join its Trusts & Estates group in San Diego, CA. This hybrid position is ideal for an attorney with a minimum of 10 years of focused California trusts and estates experience. The firm is recognized for its expertise in managing complex estate plans, trust and estate administrations, and business succession strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of clients nationwide.

Duties:

  • Draft and prepare comprehensive estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Handle estate administration, ensuring compliance with California laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and review complex estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and trust income tax returns.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals on estate planning, tax planning, and probate matters.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research, including tax-related inquiries, to support client needs.
  • Provide exceptional client service, particularly to high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail throughout all aspects of case management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member of the California State Bar with solid practice credentials.
  • Minimum of 10 years of dedicated experience in estate planning and administration within California.
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is strongly preferred; extensive relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Proven experience working with complex estate matters and high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong initiative, with a commitment to teamwork and client-focused service.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Excellent research and writing abilities.
  • Strong technical skills in estate and trust planning.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters effectively and efficiently.
