A law firm based in Miami, FL is seeking an Auto Defense Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a Florida-licensed attorney with experience in auto defense litigation. The role involves managing cases from initial review through trial, including preparing legal documents, attending court proceedings, and interacting with clients and experts. The candidate should have strong analytical skills, experience with medical records, and the ability to handle complex legal matters independently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze medical records, preparing comprehensive summaries as part of case preparation.
  • Prepare, draft, and file motions, including motions for summary judgment and discovery-related motions.
  • Cover hearings, represent clients in court, and handle all aspects of trial preparation and appellate activity.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, attend depositions, and conduct depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances and manage case timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, and pre-trial reports as needed for case management and strategy.
  • Provide legal analysis and develop strategies for case defense, including preparing for and handling appellate matters.
  • Collaborate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and build a strong defense.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • Experience in auto defense litigation.
  • Proven experience with medical records analysis and drafting legal documents.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to review and interpret complex medical and legal information.
  • Strong research abilities and exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and effectively handle all aspects of litigation.
  • Experience in drafting and responding to discovery requests and motions.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar and licensed to practice in Florida.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in reviewing and summarizing medical records and legal documents.
  • Ability to draft, file, and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment.
  • Strong understanding of auto defense law and litigation procedures.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
