A law firm is seeking an Environmental Associate Attorney for their Buffalo, NY office.

Job Overview:

The Environmental Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of matters related to federal and state environmental laws, including litigation, regulatory compliance, permitting, renewable energy development, due diligence, enforcement actions, and contaminated properties.

Duties:

  • Handle litigation and regulatory matters related to environmental laws.
  • Provide legal counsel on environmental permitting and compliance issues.
  • Assist with renewable energy development projects.
  • Conduct environmental due diligence for real estate transactions.
  • Represent clients in environmental enforcement actions.
  • Manage legal issues related to contaminated properties.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in environmental law.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Prior experience in litigation and/or regulatory matters.
  • Experience in one or more focus areas mentioned above.
  • New York Bar or Washington, D.C. license required.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar or Washington, D.C. Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and policies.
