A specialized law firm in Temecula is seeking an experienced Trust & Estates Attorney to support its estate planning and estate litigation department. This role involves advising clients on estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, and trust administration, ensuring their assets are protected from taxes, probate, and disputes. Location

Duties

  • Manage client cases from initiation to resolution.

  • Provide expert advice on estate planning and wealth transfer strategies for individuals, couples, and business owners.

  • Draft and customize legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and trust transfer documentation.

  • Oversee trust administration, including asset distribution, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

  • Represent clients in probate and trust litigation matters, including court proceedings, mediations, and depositions.

  • Collaborate with the legal team to develop case strategies and provide high-quality legal counsel.

  • Maintain a minimum of 1,350 billed and collected hours per year for full-time employment.

  • Origination of new business is encouraged and rewarded but not required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing in California probate courts.

  • Experience serving as counsel of record on at least 25 filed petitions.

  • Ability to manage complex estate planning and litigation cases independently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.

  • Experience with Wealth Counsel preferred; experience preparing estate tax returns is a plus.

  • Honest, confident, and a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
