Job Overview:
A reputable Houston-based law firm is currently seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join its Construction Defect Litigation team. This role is ideal for attorneys with prior experience in construction litigation or those with a strong interest in transitioning into this area of law. Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Represent clients in construction defect and related litigation matters

  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials

  • Argue motions and take/defend depositions of lay and expert witnesses

  • Consult with clients, opposing counsel, and judges regarding case matters

  • Draft pleadings, discovery, and motion practice documents

  • Collaborate with claims professionals and other team members to coordinate case strategies

  • Independently manage assigned caseload with minimal supervision

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of litigation experience (construction litigation preferred)

  • Ability to manage cases independently and meet court and client deadlines

  • Experience with or a strong interest in construction defect litigation and insurance defense

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and the court

  • High level of organization and attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a defense team

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and in-good-standing membership with the Texas State Bar

Skills:

  • Litigation and courtroom advocacy

  • Legal research and drafting

  • Deposition and motion practice

  • Time management and procedural compliance

  • Client counseling and case strategy development

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
