Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a skilled mid-level litigation attorney to support its expanding civil defense practice. This opportunity offers hands-on engagement across all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, client strategy sessions, and courtroom appearances. Duties:

  • Interpret and analyze legal documentation and records

  • Conduct thorough factual and legal research, including individuals and corporate entities

  • Draft strategic evaluations and develop litigation plans tailored to each matter

  • Represent clients in meetings and articulate defense positions effectively

  • Conduct and defend depositions with attention to detail and strategy

  • Draft, argue, and oppose motions in state and federal court

  • Participate in hearings, settlement discussions, and mediations

  • Prepare witnesses and organizational representatives for testimony

  • Support trial and appellate briefing as needed

  • Craft persuasive mediation summaries

  • Manage multiple active files while ensuring high-quality work under time constraints

Requirements:

  • Active and in good standing with the Georgia Bar

  • 4–6 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in a defense setting

  • Background in professional liability or coverage litigation is advantageous

  • Ability to manage complex case files independently

  • Effective communication skills and team collaboration mindset

  • Capacity to assess financial records and complex data is a plus

  • Must demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a client-oriented focus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Georgia State Bar (mandatory)

  • Federal court admissions are preferred

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy
