This role involves representing and advising employers on a wide range of employment-related matters, with a focus on litigation. Location

Duties

  • Handle defense of lawsuits involving various employment-related claims, including wage and hour class/collective actions and discrimination cases.
  • Advise and train employers on employment laws and regulations, with a focus on anti-discrimination laws.
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration across a wide range of employment issues, including discrimination, contracts, employment torts, wage and hour matters, and non-compete cases.

Requirements

  • Experience in Employment Litigation: Strong interest in labor and employment litigation, particularly class actions.
  • Courtroom Skills: Excellent courtroom demeanor and desire for early courtroom exposure.
  • Client Service: Demonstrated commitment to client service and ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and Interpersonal Skills: Detail-oriented with superior interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Professional Presence: Ability to project a professional presence and demonstrate flexibility in various work situations.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Texas State Bar and in good standing.

  • Litigation Experience: Experience with class action litigation preferred.
