A law firm in Manchester, NH, is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Patent Litigation Associate Attorney. This role is integral in guiding clients through complex patent litigation matters, staying abreast of evolving patent laws, and optimizing their intellectual property strategies. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing legal strategies, managing litigation processes, and mentoring junior associates.

Duties:

  • Collaborate closely with clients to identify and address challenges related to patent laws and judicial decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to navigate competitors' patents and maximize the value of clients' intellectual property.
  • Draft and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence for state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
  • Handle complex discovery processes by drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Engage in negotiations and communications with opposing counsel.
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions, including managing witness preparation.
  • Prepare for trial, including compiling exhibit lists, drafting evidentiary objections, motions in limine, and preparing witnesses.
  • Draft and file Federal Circuit appeal briefs and assist with appellate litigation.
  • Supervise and provide training to junior associates, offering guidance on case management and professional development.

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of patent litigation experience with extensive expertise in drafting and responding to pleadings, preparing infringement and invalidity claim charts, and managing Markman and claim construction proceedings.
  • Significant experience with patent-specific fact and expert discovery, inter partes reviews, and overall litigation strategy.
  • Strong academic credentials and superb judgment.
  • USPTO admission is highly desired.
  • An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or substantial experience in litigating related technical matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the USPTO is highly desired.

Skills:

  • Expertise in patent litigation, including complex case management and trial preparation.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing discovery processes.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and train junior associates effectively.
  • Familiarity with Federal Circuit appeal processes and appellate litigation.
