Job Overview
A well-established law firm in West Palm Beach is seeking a skilled Foreclosure/Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in handling bankruptcy cases related to foreclosures, with a strong understanding of secured creditor representation in the Florida market. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex legal matters and build expertise in foreclosure-related bankruptcy law.

Duties

• Draft, review, and file key documents related to Chapters 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcies, including Payment Change Notices, Proofs of Claim, Post-Petition Fee Notices, and Transfers of Claim.
• Perform detailed Chapter 13 Plan reviews and draft objections as needed.
• Prepare and file motions such as Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay, objections to Chapter 13 Plans, and other related legal documents.
• Represent clients at bankruptcy court hearings, both telephonically and in-person.
• Independently manage a caseload, ensuring client expectations are met with timely responses and proactive case management.
• Handle urgent and time-sensitive legal matters with precision and efficiency.
• Participate in special projects and additional duties as required by the firm.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing.
• Membership in all Florida Federal Bankruptcy Districts is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage foreclosure bankruptcy or other default-related legal matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• Admission to the Florida Bar.

Skills

• Strong legal writing and analytical abilities.
• Exceptional verbal communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently while handling a high volume of cases and meeting strict deadlines.
• Proficiency with LPS/Black Knight and Tempo software is essential. Experience with ATO and NetDocs is a plus.
• Deep understanding of bankruptcy law, particularly about foreclosure matters.
