Job Title: Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an Attorney with a high level of academic achievement, solid large law firm experience in practicing real estate finance law, and exceptional writing and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of broad real estate finance experience, including loan origination work for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, asset management, and workout experience.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis about real estate finance law.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including loan agreements, contracts, and other transactional documents.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on real estate finance matters.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, transactions, and litigation related to real estate finance.
  • Manage transactions on behalf of lenders from inception through closing and post-closing, including secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing real estate finance law in a large law firm setting.
  • Experience with loan origination work for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
  • Experience in asset management and workout matters.
  • Strong understanding of real estate finance laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certification in real estate law or related field.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
