A law firm seeks a Construction Litigation Associate to join its Litigation Practice Group in Portland, Maine. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney looking to advance their career within a dynamic and supportive environment that promotes both professional and personal growth.

Duties:

  • Manage a variety of construction litigation matters, representing owners, contractors, construction managers, sureties, subcontractors, and design professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with clients throughout the litigation process to navigate complex legal challenges effectively.
  • Draft and negotiate construction and design/engineering contracts, with an emphasis on achieving favorable outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings and motions, and represent clients in court and at depositions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction litigation.
  • Active admission to the Maine Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.
  • Strong research and writing abilities, complemented by excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Maine Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.

Skills:

  • Proficient in drafting legal documents and contracts related to construction and design/engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex legal issues.
