A leading creditor's rights law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team in Kansas City, KS. The ideal candidate will handle various legal duties, including court appearances and litigation support.

Duties

  • Prepare for and appear at court hearings within reasonable travel distance
  • Request and manage court coverage for cases when unable to appear
  • Draft, review, and file mid-litigation motions and responses
  • Prepare for trials and arbitrations, including potential overnight stays
  • Communicate with consumers, employers, and opposing attorneys to resolve cases

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri; additional state licenses are welcomed
  • Comfortable with frequent court appearances and reliable transportation
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and multitask effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications

  • Active bar licenses in Kansas and Missouri
