Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients regarding their rights and legal proceedings
• Draft and review legal documents pertinent to criminal cases
• Represent clients in pretrial hearings, offering strategic advice based on outcomes
• Conduct legal research, interview witnesses, and prepare for court appearances
• Draft and file motions, participate in trials, and deliver compelling arguments in court
• Evaluate cases, leveraging knowledge of legal precedents to predict possible outcomes
• Accumulate and analyze additional evidence to support the client’s defense
• Prepare clients for depositions and work closely with expert witnesses to strengthen the case
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies

Requirements:

• Licensed attorney with admission to the Bar in California
• Demonstrated experience in handling criminal defense cases at the federal, state, and local levels
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Proficient in legal research and trial preparation
• Dedication to client advocacy and case success

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• An active member in good standing with the California State Bar

Certifications:

• A California Bar License required
