Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Finance Attorney with 6-15 years of substantial experience in finance matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading transactions, a thorough understanding of both lender and borrower perspectives, and expertise in loan documentation and due diligence. This role requires proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating credit agreements and related loan documents. Duties:

  • Lead and manage complex finance transactions from inception to completion.
  • Provide expert legal advice on finance matters, including loan documentation, credit agreements, and related legal documents.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements and other loan-related documents.
  • Conduct due diligence and assess financial risks and opportunities.
  • Represent clients effectively in finance transactions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and protecting their interests.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and contribute to the firm's growth.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high responsiveness and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals to address client needs and achieve optimal outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 6-15 years of significant experience in finance matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead transactions in a first chair capacity strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lender and borrower side work, loan documentation, and due diligence.
  • Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating credit agreements and related loan documents.
  • Portable book of business preferred.
  • Proven business development capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding client service skills.
  • Admission to the Michigan Bar is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Michigan Bar.
