Duties:

  • Provide legal guidance and explain complex immigration concepts to clients, presenting strategic solutions.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, handling both detained and non-detained cases.
  • Manage a substantial caseload, ensuring timely and efficient case progress.
  • Conduct intake interviews and visits with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file a variety of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense strategies.
  • Review immigration applications and supporting documentation, making necessary revisions to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, government agencies, and community organizations to stay informed on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with prospective clients for consultations to develop strategic approaches for their immigration matters.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, interviews, and testimonies before USCIS or the court.
  • Provide comprehensive legal analysis and assess case strengths, identifying potential benefits for clients.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs and motions in support of various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Proven ability to handle a caseload effectively and advance legal cases.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience representing clients in Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained clients, citizenship applications, and other USCIS-related matters.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Arizona (or ability to gain admission).

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Arizona (or eligible to be admitted to the Arizona State Bar).

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a high standard of legal accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
