A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a skilled Senior Privacy Associate Attorney/Special Counsel with 7+ years of experience in Privacy law matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal and state privacy law, including counseling clients on data privacy, information security, advertising, marketing technology, and consumer protection matters. Previous law firm experience is required. They should possess extensive experience advising clients on U.S. state privacy laws and general familiarity with international privacy laws. This role involves working directly with clients, providing practical advice, handling regulatory investigations, and potentially privacy litigation. The candidate should have excellent writing and presentation skills, be highly organized, comfortable working with multiple clients, and have strong academic credentials and interpersonal skills.

 

Duties:

  • Provide counsel on federal and state privacy laws.
  • Advise clients on data privacy, information security, and consumer protection matters.
  • Work directly with clients to provide clear and practical advice.
  • Handle regulatory investigations related to privacy.
  • Potentially work on privacy litigation matters.
  • Maintain excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Manage multiple client relationships effectively.
  • Stay updated on current privacy laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 7+ years of experience in Privacy law matters.
  • Extensive experience counseling clients on U.S. state privacy laws.
  • General familiarity with international privacy laws.
  • Previous law firm experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with privacy litigation.
  • Ability to provide clear and practical advice to clients.
  • Comfortable working with multiple clients.
  • Familiarity with advertising and marketing technology.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.

 

Education & Certifications:

JD from an accredited law school.
