Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to analyze legal and factual issues, develop and present defense strategies, and manage case-related tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and insurance defense, with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Duties:

• Analyze legal and factual issues to develop well-founded defense strategies.
• Prepare and draft pleadings, discovery requests, depositions, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct depositions and assist in trial preparations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, adjusters, and other parties.
• Liaise with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Manage case dispositions promptly and efficiently.
• Appear in court and attend hearings, both in-person and virtually.
• Log and record billable hours in compliance with firm guidelines, meeting monthly billing expectations (175 hours/month).

Requirements:

• 5+ years of litigation and insurance defense experience.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar and/or Nevada State Bar.
• Strong legal writing and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload with varying deadlines and priorities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited, ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership with the California State Bar and/or Nevada State Bar.

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal technology.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage stress effectively.
• Flexibility to travel between offices and courtrooms as required.
