Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Irvine, CA  is seeking a mid-level Land Use Associate Attorney to join its expanding team. This role provides an opportunity to work on a wide range of land use and natural resources matters, representing developers, property owners, and investors. The associate will collaborate with a skilled legal team to guide projects from the planning phase through complex regulatory and compliance processes.

Location:

  • Irvine, CA 

Duties:

  • Work on a full spectrum of land use and natural resources matters.
  • Conduct land use due diligence and process entitlements.
  • Handle environmental reviews under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
  • Provide support in litigation matters related to land use and/or CEQA, if applicable.
  • Advise clients on issues related to natural resources, wetlands, endangered species, and compliance with agencies such as the California Coastal Commission and the Subdivision Map Act.
  • Work closely with clients and team members to ensure successful project planning, approval, and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage individual responsibilities while contributing to collaborative team efforts.

Requirements:

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in land use and natural resources law.
  • Experience with CEQA and processing entitlements.
  • Knowledge of or experience with land use litigation, wetlands, the California Coastal Commission, and endangered species law is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage significant individual responsibilities and work within a team environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
