Mid-level Commercial Attorney

The Commercial Attorney will play a crucial role in understanding and adhering to client policies and legal guidelines, conducting thorough legal research, preparing cases, managing legal processes, and supporting effective communication with clients. The successful candidate should have a JD from an ABA school, be admitted to practice in the State of California, possess superior analytical skills, and have a strong background in commercial collection law.

Job Details:

• Understands all client policies and procedures, conducting all firm business within those guidelines
• Researches and comprehends laws, statutes, constitutions, regulations, and court rules, including industry trends, conducting all firm business within those guidelines
• Prepares cases, attends court hearings, conference calls, consults with client witnesses, completes the discovery process, develops case and testimony, completes filings, motions, and submissions, and supervises paralegal
• Manages cases by monitoring schedules, expediting requirements, obtaining and forwarding information
• Supports firm and clients by initiating and maintaining open communications, keeping the firm informed of any workflow issues or policy changes
• Maintains cost standards by monitoring expenses and recommending cost-saving opportunities
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes
• Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Requirements:

• JD from an ABA school required
• Admitted to practice in the State of California
• Superior analytical skills and strong written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of the litigation process, from suit filing through and including judgment enforcement, is a must
• Experience in commercial collection law is a plus
• Must be located in California
