A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its litigation team. This position involves handling insurance defense cases related to workers' compensation, including trial preparation, legal research, and document drafting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Florida workers' compensation laws, exhibit exceptional organizational skills, and thrive in a collaborative work environment.

Duties

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation matters, primarily in defense of insurance claims.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes and regulations pertinent to workers' compensation cases.
  • Develop case strategies and gather evidence to support litigation and trial preparation.
  • Draft legal documents, including discovery requests and responses, pleadings, subpoenas, and medical composites.
  • Organize and manage case files using electronic document management systems and legal technology.
  • Maintain case documentation efficiently and accurately, ensuring all records are up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive team dynamic that aligns with the firm’s core values of integrity, accountability, and client commitment.
  • Provide regular updates to clients, ensuring clear communication throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Attend and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in workers' compensation law or related practice areas.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools, document management systems, and case management software.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.
