Job Overview:
A highly reputable law firm based in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex family law matters, including international divorces, high net worth divorces, contested custody cases, and marital agreements. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in family law, with a passion for helping clients navigate intricate legal matters while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic work environment.

Location: Houston, TX 

Duties:

  • Manage a busy family law docket from client intake through litigation and final case resolution.
  • Oversee both current and growing book of business.
  • Draft and manage discovery documents, conduct legal research, and participate in court appearances and mediations.
  • Support the firm’s ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) and Collaborative Divorce practice.
  • Participate in professional organizations, such as Houston Young Lawyers, HBA-Family Law Section, and Inns of Court.
  • Uphold the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct in all dealings.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Current license to practice law in Texas.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in family law.
  • Strong drafting, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, especially in high-conflict cases.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Flexibility in working hours and adaptability to last-minute changes and deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • License to practice law in Texas (required).
  • Board Certification in Family Law (preferred but not required).

  • Expertise in family law, including divorce, custody, and marital agreements.
  • Strong drafting and legal research skills.
