Job Title: IP Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Location: Tysons Corner, VA

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its IP Litigation team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in complex intellectual property litigation, including working on case management, motions practice, depositions, and trial proceedings. The firm values candidates with a proven track record of managing cases, as well as mentoring junior attorneys and staff.

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of IP litigation, including motions, depositions, and discovery.
  • Manage cases through all phases, from pre-trial motions to trial preparation.
  • Lead and oversee junior associates and paralegals on cases.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with experts to support litigation strategies.
  • Represent clients in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) or trial proceedings.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and motions.
  • Communicate complex legal issues clearly in both written and oral formats.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in intellectual property litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management, including supervising junior associates.
  • Proficiency in briefing, motions practice, taking depositions, and working with experts.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with a high degree of efficiency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Education:

  • A law degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Virginia or have the ability to obtain licensure promptly.
  • Preference for candidates with an engineering degree or those admitted to the USPTO.
