A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney with 4 to 8 years of experience to join its Water Law team. This position, located in Colorado, is ideal for candidates with a proven interest and background in Colorado water law, including water court proceedings and water rights transactions. Duties:

  • Manage water law cases, including water court proceedings and water rights transactions.
  • Advise clients on issues related to water rights, including acquisition, use, and transfer of water rights.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic legal advice to clients in the water law sector.
  • Represent clients in hearings and proceedings before water courts and relevant agencies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop litigation strategies and solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant state and federal water laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of legal experience with a focus on Colorado water law.
  • Proven experience with water court proceedings and water rights transactions.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and interact with clients independently.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Colorado.

Skills:

  • Expertise in Colorado water law, including water rights and related regulations.
  • Strong legal writing and drafting abilities.
  • Experience with legal research, including water law statutes and case law.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and multiple priorities.
