Job Overview:
A law firm is currently seeking a lateral Business & Facilities Associate Attorney to support public schools and community colleges with a range of operational legal issues. This position involves both transactional and litigation support in areas such as real estate transactions, leases, public contracting matters, construction procurement, and contract negotiations. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills and be passionate about providing high-quality legal support to educational institutions.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support on real estate transactions, leases, and public contracting matters.
  • Assist in construction procurement and related disputes.
  • Support a wide range of contract negotiations and litigation issues.
  • Conduct legal research and drafting for various matters.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide effective legal counsel on operational issues faced by public schools and community colleges.
  • Manage a variety of transactional and litigation tasks within a team environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of legal practice experience.
  • Active member of the State Bar of California.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in real estate, public contracting, and/or construction procurement matters.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
