A law firm seeks a dedicated Family Law Attorney to join its team in Lenexa, KS. This role offers an immediate opportunity for motivated legal professionals who are passionate about providing strategic support and guidance in family law matters, including divorce, legal separation, paternity actions, and estate planning.

Duties

  • Prepare and draft legal documents for filing with appropriate entities, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Draft pleadings and motions, including judgments and orders, for family law cases.
  • Communicate with attorneys, court personnel, and clients to discuss case progress and developments.
  • Interview witnesses for court proceedings and prepare them for testimony.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all documents and filings.
  • Appear in court for all assigned cases in a timely manner.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned cases, from initial consultation to resolution.
  • Perform necessary administrative tasks, including filing, mailing, and organizing case files.
  • Conduct legal research on specific issues related to family law matters.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Valid Kansas license to practice law.
  • Preferred experience in family law; however, candidates without direct experience may also apply.
  • Senior Associate positions available for candidates with five years or more of litigation experience.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Kansas.
